A very convincing deepfake of Tom Cruise has recently emerged on twitter:
In three short videos, a (younger) Tom Cruise plays Golf and tells jokes.

While this deepfake is extremely convincing visually, it has some shortcomings:
It required an actor to film the videos. The face of the actor has been face-swapped (using software
such as DeepFaceLab) afterwards.
While the results are much (with current technology) more convincing than fully computer-generated
deepfakes, this complicates the deepfake creation process.
The voice is not the one of Tom Cruise, but that of the actor.

Tom Cruise.
For non-English native tongues, one might not notice this immedetatly, because on is not accustomed
to Tom Cruise's voice anyways.
For native-speakers however, the discrepancy is obvious.
Additionally, one can find small artefacts in the video: For example, the spectacle temple shortly
becomes
invisible while fake Tom Cruise removes his classes:
